Herman and Katnip Theatrical Series -Famous Studios

Herman and Katnip Theatrical Cartoon Series Logo
Herman is the mouse, and he first appeared in 1944's The Henpecked Rooster, a Noveltoon. Katnip the cat first joined Herman in 1949's Mice Meeting You, also a Noveltoon. The pairing seemed to work, or at least give Famous their own answer to MGM's Tom & Jerry series. By 1952, the duo was spun off into their own very popular series.
