Hothouse 3 Theatrical Cartoon (2006)

Take six promising animation filmmakers from across Canada, plant them in the NFB’s English Animation Studio, give them 12 weeks to create extremely short animation from concept to release with the full support and assistance of NFB creative experts and, voilà, the NFB Animation Hothouse! This is the third annual session.

Hothouse is about re-imagining ways of making animation, ways that are faster, more flexible, and which embrace the many possibilities in the animation process while maintaining creative and technical excellence. Each year, The National Film Board of Canada seeks submissions from emerging filmmakers (young and not-so-young), and artists intrigued by animation art. Six (usually!) are chosen as winners.
