Comic Kings Theatrical Series -Famous Studios
This predecessor to the King Features Trilogy TV series was a collaboration with King Features Syndicate. In a follow up to the Popeye syndicated package, executive producer Al Brodax hired the same firms to produce 150 color cartoons of other KFS strips- 50 each of "Beetle Bailey," "Krazy Kat" and "Snuffy Smith." Paramount/Famous Studios was allowed to distribute their films to theaters in 1962, a year ahead of the syndicated TV release.
