Bamforth Producing Company Studio Directory
A publishing, film and illustration company based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England founded in 1870 by James Bamforth. The company made a giant splash making illustrated 'saucy' seaside postcards which, like his films, were exported worldwide for sale. Film production ended instopped in 1915, when the film production wing was renamed to Holmfirth Producing Company, and moved operations to London. The last Holmfirth film, Meg o' the Woods, was released in February 1918.
