Felix begins his day by feeding his pair of birds and his two puppies. When he comes to his pet goldfish Annabelle, he finds her very lonely, as she doesn't have a mate. Felix goes fishing to try to find a companion for her. A powerful swordfish pulls him to the bottom of the sea, where he observes a number of undersea sight gags (an octopus traffic cop, fish who eat each other in sequence, an electric eel). Felix finds a suitable fish and tries to make off with it, but the entire undersea community gives chase and has him arrested as a kidnapper. He is taken before King Neptune (who has a topless mermaid dancing for him!) for trial. The king is angry, but when Felix explains himself, Neptune takes him to a fish orphanage, where he can select a fish that really needs a home. Neptune drops them off back at the shore, and everyone lives happily ever after.
