Cartoon Summary:

Narrator: "This is the planet Mars. In the summer of 1954, the planet passed extremely close to earth, so close that a cosmic force was disturbed and a baby intended for the Earth was delivered to Mars, while a Martian baby went by mistake to earth."

Joseph Wilbur is surprised when his baby is born green and with antennae, and he's reluctant to take the baby for a stroll when the kid frightens old ladies. When Mr. Wilbur comes home from work one day, his wife Martha tells him, "I'm so worried about baby. He's doing your income tax! And that isn't all." It seems that he's spelled out the Einstein theory with his building blocks and constructed molecules out of Tinkertoys.

In an effort to get little "Mot" to play more, they sit him down in front of the Captain Schmideo TV program. Based on the one that the captain holds up on TV, Mot constructs a working flying saucer.

That night, they're visited by a rocket with a message from Sir U. Tan of Mars, telling them to guard the Martian baby Mot and that they'll soon be able to exchange him for their own son "Yob" (spell it backwards). Mot, however, has taken off in his own little flying saucer, and Mr. Wilbur has to chase him into a hall, where an authority happens to be lecturing on the phoniness of the flying saucer scare.

Mr. Wilbur wakes up in the maternity waiting room, the whole Mot-Yob affair a dream. One surprise: the earthling baby's wrist tag reads "Yob."
