The Unexpected Pest 8 out of 5 stars

The only director (other than Freleng) to have a profound understanding of Sylvester was Bob McKimson. This one might've been a classic if only McKimson had a more imaginative choice of camera angles--all his shots of the mouse are either medium or long-shots. A few close-ups would've allowed the viewer to empathize with the mouse a bit more.
In the end, it's Foster's endearing script that carries the day.

A brilliant story. McKimson and Foster worked well together.
