A Fine Kettle of Fish!

In this cartoon, Daffy's job as a bellhop is to assure a very tired businessman that his stay at the hotel will be a peaceful one. Before heading to his room, the businessman clearly warns Elmer Fudd, manager of the hotel, "If I'm disturbed at any time, I'm gonna bust you right in the nose!" Unknown to Daffy is this threat as he constantly interupts the man's slumber by scratching window surfaces, getting drunk with other tenants, and letting in a little fresh air (and the loud sounds of the street below). The tired man simply rises from his bed, goes downstairs to the front desk, and lays Elmer out with a punch to the face. This happens on many occasions; each encounter different and funnier than the first.
This cartoon benefits greatly from Daffy's energy and Elmer's ability to take hits. Throughout the cartoon, Elmer's blackeye from the first punch remains visible. The last event leading to Elmer's resignation of manager is VERY amusing.
This pairing of Daffy and Elmer is among the funniest in Warner Brothers history. 4 stars easy. ****
