Bobby Bumps Theatrical Cartoon Series Logo
Like Max Fleischer's "Out Of The lnkwell" series, this film features various interactions between cartoon characters and a human hand. Inspired by R. F. Outcault's Buster Brown comic strip, this series dealt with the trials and tribulations of a small boy growing up.

This series was the first to be produced using the cel animation process. Previously, animated cartoons were produced using animation directly drawn on paper. Hurd and Bray patented the process jointly.

This series was created by Earl Hurd, who directed and/or animated most of the entries in the series. In 1918 Hurd left the Bray studios, and took the series to Paramount Magazine.
