A Lighthouse In The Sea Of Time Story Detail

Cartoon Synopsis:

Two archaeologists discover the Scrolls of Merlin, and Elisa and Matt escort them to the museum. Two mercenaries named Banquo and Fleace steal them, and the Gargoyles try to get them back. Hudson falls off into the sea with one of them, while Broadway almost manages to get back the other one, when he is stopped by Macbeth, and captured. Broadway is still unimpressed by reading, especially as he is illiterate himself, and Macbeth describes to him the importance of the spells. Hudson, meanwhile lands on a beach and comes across a blind man named Jeffry Robbins. He is a writer, and finally persuades Hudson to reveal that he can't read. Hudson is ashamed of it, and Robbins offers to teach the old Gargoyle. That day, a Macbeth track down the Gargoyle in his stone sleep on Robbins' lawn, and introduces himself as Lennox MacDuff, a worried friend of Hudson's. Robbins says that MacDuff had just missed him (which to his knowledge is true), and on his way out Macbeth takes the Scroll from the Gargoyle's grip. When he awakens, he returns to the house and asks if he knew where the scroll was. Robbins related the story of Lennox MacDuff, and Robbins was unsurprised when Hudson did not know the name as he thought it was a fake from the beginning. He explained that they were two characters in the Shakespeare play, Macbeth. Hudson at first tried to get to Macbeth's mansion, but before he was half way across the room, he realized that he did not know the way. Robbins looked the name up in his Braille directory, and came across the address, impressing Hudson immensely. Macbeth, meanwhile succeeds in opening the scrolls, only to find that they are nothing but a diary, and contain none of Merlin's spells. Goliath and the clan arrive, easily pass the guns and Banquo and Fleace, and Goliath gives Macbeth the ultimatum of burning the scrolls, or releasing Broadway. Macbeth is unimpressed, as they have nothing that he wants, but Broadway persuades Goliath of their importance. Macbeth reluctantly lets the clan go free without the use of force. Broadway and Hudson both decide to learn how to read. The story ends with these words:

The written word is all that stands between memory and oblivion. Without books as our anchors we are cast adrift, neither teaching nor learning. They are windows on the past, mirrors on the present, and prisms reflecting all possible futures. Books are lighthouses erected in the dark seas of time.
