Cartoon Synopsis:

The legendary Baron Munchausen customarily calls his friends together to relate extraordinary adventures, such as the eight-pawed hare, a deer that pushed a cherry tree through the woods, or ducks trapped with pieces of bacon.

One day, his king entrusts him to carry a priceless gift to the Sovereign of Trukesban. He leaves immediately, with an amazing chestnut tree that's able to fly, thus overcoming all obstacles.

On the way, he meets those who will become its faithful companions: Cavallo, quicker than the wind; Hercule (Hercules), stronger than his mythical namesake; Ouragane (Hurricane), which blows stronger than a real hurricane; and Jécoute (I Hear), who can even hear grass growing.

With all the honors to Trukesban, the Baron almost loses his head for having lost a simple wager.

Saved from decapitation by its companions, he is imprisoned by outlaws. He escapes from prison thanks to a cannonball that he rides out.

Fallen to the bottom of the sea, he has his life saved by Sirèna, pretty princess of the Abysses, who deposits him (on Neptune's orders, but to her own regret) in the middle of the ocean.

A Dutch boat picks him up just before a gigantic whale swallows them all.

With Ouragane's aid, the Baron and its friends escape from the whale's stomach, where numerous boats remain captive. But they are attacked by a band of two-headed creatures.

Condemned and thrown in a volcano, the Baron is tossed in the air by a sudden eruption. In the nick of time, he hangs onto a balloon, piloted by Ouragane, which accompanies the beautiful Irèna, Sirèna's earthly counterpart.

Returning to the castle at last, the Baron announces his engagement with Irèna, adding yet another tale to his list of exploits. But remember: they're all imaginary!
