The opening of the third season of "The Real Ghostbusters" called for this re-name, and the addition of solo "Slimer" cartoons. The new shows are a lot more comedic compared to the older, gothic image. In addition to new shows, this new incarnation also showed repeats of older "The Real Ghostbusters" shows.
