Hunter's Moon, Part One Story Detail
In 994 Gillecomgain was attacked by Demona and gained his scar. His father was unimpressed by the scar, but Gillecomgain swore vengeance against Demona and her race. In 1996, the Gargoyles are happy having successfully stopped a train robbery. They are content with their lives. Elisa is transferred to dayshift, 'to show a new transfer the ropes,' and although at first she is reluctant, when she sees her new partner, Jason Connover, she is instantly attracted to him. They find a team of robbers trying to steal a chemical known as DI-7 from a Xanatos Enterprises warehouse. A chase follows and the team is arrested. The leader reports back to Dominique Destine of Nightstone Unlimited, who has just employed a person known as 'Robyn Correy.' Dominique is furious when she discovers that they failed to retrieve the chemical, but cannot do anything because it is too near dusk, and so she changes into her true form as Demona. At the Eeyrie Building, Jon Carter interviews Xanatos, but many of the questions are obviously directed at finding out about Gargoyles. He also finds a bit of the stone skin the Gargoyles left. When the Gargoyles awaken the next night, Elisa asks them to guard the DI-7 warehouses. There are two of them, and the Gargoyles split into groups. The trio takes Bronx to one warehouse where Demona escapes with a canister of the chemical. At the other warehouse, a team of three masked Hunters attacks Angela, Goliath and Hudson. They escape, but Angela comes out the worst, as her life is in danger. The three Hunters realize that it wasn't 'the Demon' that they killed, but another Gargoyle. Dawn is hours away, and the Gargoyles are giving up hope on Angela. Goliath vows to hunt down and kill the masked Hunters, to avenge his daughter.
