Bécassine: Le Trésor Viking Story Detail
Years have gone by, and little Loulotte has become a blooming young woman. Therefore, Bécassine, a blundering nanny, must keep an eye at present on Loulotte's 10-year-old daughter Charlotte. Bécassine (whose name is French for "silly goose") arrives in Paris from Brittany to take care of Charlotte. Loulotte, now a sculptress, is married to Edmond d'Ermonville, an animal photographer who has gone to cover an expedition to the North Pole. Loulotte is preparing to go to Venice to participate in the "Sculptors of Tomorrow" contest. Edmond returns unexpectedly, having made a fabulous discovery in Laponia. He hurries to deliver to his friend Gaspard, an antique dealer, a jewel found on an archeological site during his trip. Convinced that it's part of a Viking treasure, the grasping Gaspard orders his hired men, Gari and Baldi, to steal the map of the site from Edmond, then to make the latter disappear. Bécassine and Charlotte head to Laponia (via Marseilles and Ibiza) in an attempt to solve the mystery of Edmond's disappearance. In spite of themselves, the pair take part in a comical worldwide adventure full of new developments and unexpected meetings.
