When eccentric millionaire Colonel Beaureguard Sanders included Scooby-Doo in his will (as appreciation for rescuing him from a fish pond several years before), he and his ghost chasing cohorts must take a boat trip on a stormy night to a secluded island haunted manor to spend the night with 4 other heirs where they find themselves in another scary mystery. The heirs vanish one by one, due to two "phantom shadows" (actually green ghosts) who nearly scare the Scooby-Doo crime busters away- but in the end our super sleuths capture the ghosts in a washing machine and solve the mystery. Corrupt lawyers Cosgood Creeps and Mr. Crawls had devised this "ghostly" plan to scare all the heirs away (it was a condition of Colonel Sanders' will to spend the night) and control the fortune, which to everyone's dismay turns out to be $1 million worth of worthless confederate money!
