The Red-Headed League Story Detail
Lestrade sees some suspicious men carrying suitcases. The driver points her the way of the Red-Headed League, an organization for the advancement of people with red hair. A man named Wilson wins their contest and is hired to virtually change famous figures' hair to red. Wilson is the owner of a fish & chips place, so Holmes goes there. When he takes a sample of stains on the waiter's apron, art suppliers are found, so they go to the museum. They see a painting there, and when they go back to the tunnels in the restaurant, they find the same painting. The one at the museum was a fake created with a sedative by the waiter at the fish & chips place, in cooperation with Saks, the leader of the League. Gotting, the world's richest man, holds a benefit to donate his paintings to the museum, but Moriarty arrives and turns up the heat in the room to activate the sedative in the painting, and all the rich attendants fall asleep on the floor, making it easy to steal from them, and to abduct Gotting. However, this was a trick because Gotting was really Holmes, and the people only pretended to fall asleep, since Holmes switched the fake for the originals again. Holmes foils Moriarty's plans once again, and they give Wilson the painting re-created with red hair.
