Cartoon Synopsis:

Rokusho has strange dreams of his past while sleeping in a large oak tree. The tree belongs to a woman named Ainsley, who discovers Rokusho, and who drives him off her property. Ikki and Metabee notice Rokusho hanging around Ainsley's house, and Ikki explains to Metabee that Ainsley is crazy about her tree. She will go to extreme lengths to protect the oak tree from harm. And rumor has it that she also has a sizable collection of rare medals.

Rokusho is shaken by his recollection of the past. He returns to the tree, and he is again reprimanded by Ainsley. She believes that Rokusho is the intruder whom she has spotted near her tree on several occasions. As Rokusho is about to leave, he overhears a rustle in the bushes, and he takes off in hot pursuit after the real intruders. Rokusho loses sight of them, but this display convinces Ainsley that he is sincere.

Ainsley invites Rokusho into her house, and she appeals to him to help her protect her tree. She explains that her husband died several years ago, and that he was a big believer in the power of the tree. Her husband felt that the tree had the power to heal hearts. Ainsley is unwilling to let go of the memory of her husband. She shows Rokusho her husband's untouched bedroom, where he notices a collection of old war medals. She sadly tells him that she has no pictures of her and her husband together, as she hated having her picture taken.

After catching Ikki and Metabee spying on him and Ainsley, Rokusho explains that the rumors of her rare medal collection are highly exaggerated. He also tells them about the visions of his past that he had while in the oak tree. Rokusho once belonged to Professor Hushi, the man who developed the Medabot theory. His work led to the development of Medabots. Professor Hushi died in a fire which consumed Rokusho's home, the cause of which was never discovered. Rokusho has been going to Ainsley's oak tree because it allows him to dream of his happier days with Professor Hushi.

The intruders- the Rubberobo Gang, of course- dig up a box buried beneath the oak tree. They've heard the rumors of rare medals, and they believe that they have hit paydirt. Rokusho attempts to stop them, and he finds himself in a robattle with Saldron, the Rubberobos' flame-throwing Medabot.

Rokusho puts his body on the line in an effort to prevent Saldron's fire attack from reaching Ainsley's tree. He is unsuccessful. The tree catches fire, and Rokusho is on the verge of a fiery defeat.

Struck down by the fire attack, Rokusho flashes back to the fire which consumed his home and which killed his mentor. When it seems that Rokusho is about to give up on life, words of encouragement from Ainsley and Metabee pull him back. He rises with a vengeance, pummeling Saldron and the Rubberobo Gang off the edge of a ravine with one punch.

As it turns out, the mysterious box under the tree contained a photo of Ainsley and her husband. She is overwhelmed by emotion at the sight of it. With the tree gone, Rokusho and Ainsley realize that the time has come to unchain themselves from the past, and to start living in the present.
