Synopsis for the TV Cartoon Sonic's Nightmare

As the title clearly says, Sonic has a recurring nightmare about not being able to rescue Sally from being roboticized, followed by her voice saying "Sonic, where were you when the brains were handed out?" Meanwhile, Sally learns from her talking handheld computer, Nicole, that Robotnik plans to unleash a weapon that will cause acid rain. Rotor shows the group a pile of swatbot parts (Tails in a cameo scene gets instantly scared by them). Sally, Bunnie and Antoine disguise themselves as swatbots and infiltrate the deserted island of Nimbus where Robotnik and Snively set up a base to activate their acid rain machine. Antoine's clumsiness once more gets the best of him and they all get captured. Sonic speeds to the rescue. Robotnik tries to trap him and then destroy him by using the acid rain machine on him. Sonic destroys the machine and gives Sally his power ring to escape from the cage. Then just after Robotnik and Snively escape by using their cloaking device, the island starts to sink. Sonic uses his power ring once more to escape from the island with the others.
