Cartoon Synopsis:

Woody Woodpecker's the postmaster aboard a mail car in the Old West, where he successfully outwits a bandit who's gunnin' for the shipment of gold bullion. Two characters, the much-wanted bandit and his horse, are seated, leaning against a telegraph pole, when they hear a telegraphic message requesting track clearance for the special train carrying gold bullion. The bandit's horse is a real clown. The bandit steals the telegraph message and gives it to the horse to read: "What does it say?" "Dah-dah-dit, dah-dit-dit, dah-dit-dit!" In the express car of the B.O. Railroad train, Woody, the messenger, is busily putting boxed marked "Gold" into the car's steel compartment strong room. When it's full, he carefully closes and locks the door as the train goes crazily on toward its destination. One stop is Saddle Sore Junction! The bandit rides the horse to the station and hides himself in the mailbag, which is automatically picked up as the train, without stopping, passes through the town. As Woody opens the mailbag inside the car, the bandit pops out and, at the point of a gun, demands to know where all the "gold bullion" is. Woody makes the job difficult for the big-mouthed bandit. He points to the car's side door and pulls it open as the bandit rushes through the door and falls from the train. The bandit is back in no time, and from here on, it's a battle of wits between Woody and the bandit as to when the door of the strong room will be opened. The bandit finally forces Woody to open the door and rushes in, only to find that what is stored in the strong room is gold bouillon soup! We finally see Woody serving all the gold bouillon soup to the bandit that he can eat. The bandit is behind bars in the town jail, and he really goes idiotically daft and giddily insane whenever the words "gold bouillon" are mentioned.
