Cartoon Summary:

The film opens with a live-action Bill Cosby discussing the importance of telling the truth.

Edward, one of the boys who live in the neighborhood with Fat Albert and the Gang, has a bad habit of telling lies. Edward begins to tell one tall tale after another about his vacation and how he wrestled alligators in Florida.

The gang, enamored with Edward, all go down to the river to have him show them how to wrestle alligators. The river visit accomplishes nothing but getting the boys wet and dirty, all except Edward.

The boys finally learn the extent of Edward's lies when it is discovered that he could not have wrestled at all because he cannot swim.

In the end, Edward learns that an individual can lose friends by not being truthful.
