Farmer Alfalfa discovers an African American eating his watermelons outside. He walks into the house to get a shotgun, we see several "prizes" that Al has killed in the past among the walls of the stiff-looking home. Failing to kill the poor man because the bullets won't pierce his skin, the Farmer decides to have his donkey ram the guy, and fails as well. Farmer Alfalfa approaches the man and asks, "Hey Nigger, What are you doing around here?" To which the black man replies, "I'm jus' eating a few watermelons, boss!"
The man throws the watermelon shell at the Farmer hitting him hard, not knowing his own strength. Shaken and frightened, Al says "A fine day for it, too". Al decides that he can't kill the man, so he goes to his house to think.
In the meantime, we see the man continuing to eat the watermelons. A small mouse crawls up on his foot, and scares him away, terrified. Farmer Al now crawls up camouflaged by a barrel with his shotgun; peeking out to take aim he notices that the man has fled.
