Synopsis for the TV Cartoon The Haunted Showboat

En route to The Tom Sawyer Festival, The Mystery Machine makes an unexpected rest stop in front of the Dixie Queen showboat on the Mississippi River (or is it the Erie Canal?), where Scooby-Doo and crew run into Josie and The Pussy Cats (actually, it was vice versa), and combine forces to do battle with a couple of ghosts who are haunting the boat. The mystery unfolds when the century-old ghost of Injun Joe, Mark Twain's ex-con story character, and the ghost of Captain Scavenger, a river pirate, begins dragging chains, moving objects, and making scary noises. But they don't stand a ghost of a chance when the pro ghost chasers and the rock group get into the act- and expose our creepies as a pair of mere money counterfeiters, who were using the Dixie Queen to hide their illegal tender.
