Cartoon Synopsis:

Bluto is at work shoeing a horse. The mailman comes along with Bluto's draft notice. He tries several ploys to get out of serving and complains to the draft board, constituted by Popeye. Finally, he tries to hurt himself, but he gains a sense of patriotism in the end. Popeye feeds spinach (including the can) to Bluto so that Bluto can help fight Japanese spies. Bluto and Popeye both end up pounding the heck out of a group of Japanese soldiers whose headquarters is in an orphanage.
