Synopsis for the TV Cartoon The Manairons

Once upon a time, Beth and her father go into town to buy a horse. However, the horse her father likes is much too expensive. He attempts to play cards to win the money he needs but is unlucky and loses all of his money. Desperate, he gambles with his land, betting what he cannot mow in one day. He loses again and must commence with the mowing challenge to see what land he can save for himself. During this ordeal, Beth notices that a harvester has dropped a tube, which she then picks up and holds onto. The next morning, the mowing challenge begins. While her father mows the field, Beth, her mother and grandmother stay in and fret over the outcome. During this time, Oona the duck gets into the house, removes the stopper from the tube and releases the Manairons. The Manairons are a swarm of small mysterious creatures that wreak havoc until Beth orders them back into the tube and replaces the stopper. Beth learns from her grandmother that the Manairons must be controlled by their master when they are released and must be given something to do or they will cause a lot of trouble. Because Beth has the tube, she is their master. Beth rushes to the field so that the Manairons can help her father before the sun goes down, ending the day. The Manairons magically mow the entire field and win the bet for her father, who is able to get his land and his money back. They live happily ever after.
