When high school basketball star Todd Andrews tests positive for the HIV virus, Verminous Skumm seizes the opportunity to incite fear and panic in the boy's town. By spreading misinformation about AIDS, Skumm plans to create chaos and prevent people from learning the true facts about the disease. Can Captain Planet and the Planeteers crack this "formula for hate," and get the townspeople to listen to some straight talk about AIDS? They offer the athlete moral support, as do his mother, brother Chip, girlfriend Lisa, teammate Jeff and the Coach.
