Cartoon Synopsis:

In Scotland in the late 1950s, a struggling illusionist's thunder is being stolen by emerging rock stars. Forced to accept increasingly obscure assignments in fringe theaters, garden parties and bars, he visits an isolated community and wins the heart of a young village girl who is convinced that he is a real magician. She has never seen electricity, and she believes that his tricks are real magic. He doesn't have the heart to disillusion her, and goes bankrupt buying her magical gifts.
