BCDB: Cartoon Reviews: Hey, Hey, Hey, It's Fat Albert

I recall seeing this TV special in prime time as a child, and at the time I was floored by it. The character drawings had a loose fluid feel to them, nothing like the later filmation series. In hindsight it was more like something I'd have expected from someone like Ralph Bakshi. I was terribly disappointed when the TV series was introduced. Gone were the free flowing drawings and the live action filmed backgrounds which seemed so radically different at the time. They'd been replaced by slick factory produced saturday morning fair with corny jokes. I'd love the chance to view this program again
