The Wizard of Beaumont

One of (if not the) best of the all-musical cartoons. The selection of songs as well as the way they are strung together is just excellent. I just wish that the folks that made this cartoon had gone on to make many more along the same lines.

Great animation

Some very fine animation elevates this 'toon. It's plot is rather simple (a group of harmonica playing folks...um, turkeys rather) and is used to showcase some tunes and allow for uninterrupted sight gags. The brilliant animation however, is the real star, with great perspective, fluid movement, and wonderful attention to detail. The tunes are fun to listen to and are well syncronized with the action. A very beautiful cartoon to watch.

A terrific, living document of an American way of life that's all but faded: the all-harmonica band. A revival of this tradition is long-overdue......if barbershop quartets can be successfully revived, why not this??? (For that matter, why not the all-accordion band as well? The daughters of some friends of my parents'--in Colorado--were members of such an organization, doing amazing arrangements of orchestral classical favorites.)
Oh yes--superlative animation & characterization as well.
