The mousetrap hidden in the saucer of milk has to be one of the cruelest, funniest cartoon moments ever. So simple, so fiendish, so brilliant.

Absolutely Hilarious!

This is by far one of the funniest cartoons Tex Avery ever made. It's just so hilarious - that stupid little melody that you hear everytime the black cat shows up, all the various "objects" falling from out of nowhere... Tex takes the old superstition of black cats being bad luck one step farther in this cartoon. Dog picks on kitten... kitten blows whistle... black cat crosses dog's path... dog gets hurt. In the final scene of this cartoon, Tex Avery sets a record for the most sight gags in the shortest amount of time, with no less than 7 objects falling from the sky in a matter of 15-20 seconds.

I sgree that this may be Tex's funniest effort. The premise is simple with lots of great Averian twists. A classic that only gets better with repeated viewing.

A black cat protects an innocent white kitten from an evil bulldog by crossing the dog's path and causing him bad luck, mainly in the form of falling objects.
A Tex Avery Classic!!!
