It could've been trivial; it could've been unbearably cute; it coluld've been an experiment that was just all wrong.
No; it's a very disarming eight minutes that allows us to zero in on the depth of Jerry's own characterization, being both hero AND bewildered fall-guy. The luscious Technicolor settings are a required plus, too.

Jerry's Night on the Town!

Even though Tom really isn't involved in this one, I still think this is a very amusing cartoon. The music is nicely done and going around the city with Jerry proves to be a funny trip. Whether he's hanging from candles, or whistling at the women, Jerry doesn't cease to provide laughs at every turn.
