BCDB: Cartoon Reviews: Once Upon A Forest

Once Upon a Forest is clearly a crowning achievement for Joe Barbera and the late Will Hanna. The backgrounds are lush and colorful, the characters are nicely developed, the story is gripping, and the animation is meticulous. There is no danger that traditional, hand-drawn animation will disappear from view if it is done this well.

An entertaining little story that takes its time before it really gets going. A movie with a message, although there's nothing wrong with that , it does tend to sway some people away from it. Better than a lot of the junk out there that passes for animation.
