this is a FANTASTIC movie! it has so much love and so much careful planning! it does NOT have a weak plot and it is one of the best movies EVER!

I have seen most of the snow white and the seven dwarfs but it a switch instead of dwarfs there dwarfelfs. the plot is weak but it would be worth renting not buying.

1986-87 was the years of production for this FILMATION second release under the "CLASSICS" division originally titled "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfelles". This special production unit was made up of refuge artists from Disney (Eisner management change going on era) and selected top production artists at FILMATION at the time, also a number of top animation students from UCLA and CAL ARTS. Originally WESTINGHOUSE allowed the set in concrete budget for $10 Million dollars for this Lou Scheimer new feature animation unit called "The Classics" label for FILMATION. The first feature "PINOCCHIO" ended up taking about 2 years in various phases of full out union scale production that took up to $7 Million dollars. Well, this only left $3 Million dollars to finish this unique film for FILMATION. Really this films top talent later became heads at various divisions of Disney/Dreamworks (Will Finn), Warner Bros. (Rusty Mills 3D group) for example. This film is a victum of an inhouse script overall and the artist tried to make the best of it. The production screenings at the time were dull. There were set backs and mid production layoffs, on again, off again work stretches. It took a year and half to complete as scheduled. This film went into somewhat of a lost orphan period when no studio wanted to claim it. Then some Texas company bought the rights to it and got it to the screen and promoted it as being a different new film title called "Happily Ever After" released in '93. It bombed! But, it does OK at video outlets.
