A Wonderful Movie For A Wonderful Cartoon

Ever since I was young and till now that I'm 18 years old, Transformers have always ruled my life! It was sad that Optimus Prime died but this is where for the first time The evil Megatron becomes the evil Galvatron. Ever since this movie, many megatron have become galvatron when he got so powerful. Optimus Prime always comes back, but this when they dicided for a new leader. I was amazed that Hot Rod was gooning to be the new Autobot Leader and become Rodimus Prime. Out of all the carecters, Unicron has to be my most favourite from the Movie. A giant Transformer that transforms into a planet! Now that's Awesome! Now in the new Transformers Armada, Unicron is back! Now there's even a toy out for him that Transforms! I heard the Movie is coming back out on Video and DVD. But I havn't found them yet. Are they not in New Zealand yet? To me Transformers rules my life & I hope the TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE continues on and on and on!

A Cult Following, With Good Reason

Bah weep grah nah weep ninny-bong! :)

Was there truly a better time than the 80's to be a child growing up? The cartoons were fantastic, the movies were off the wall, and fashion was...well, let's not go there. :)

One of the greatest cartoons from the 80s, however, has to be Transformers. The Japanese have been responsible for more imaginitive childrens' creations than we could possibly imagine, but Transformers captured just about EVERYONE'S attention between the cartoon, the toys (simple for a toddler to work, impossible for anyone over the age of 20), and the film.

And good lord, what a film it was! Between the tight script, flawless dialogue, and the cast of voice actors, this film DESERVES the cult status it enjoys. Where else are you going to find Robert Stack (Ultra Magnus), Leonard Nimoy (Galvatron), Eric Idle (Wreck-Gar), Judd Nelson (Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime), Casey Kasem (Cliffjumper), Scatman Crothers (Jazz), Lionel Stander (Kup), Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime, Ironhide), Frank Welker (Megatron), Chris Latta (Starscream), and Orson Welles (Unicron) all assembled together for a film?

From the get-go, Transformers: The Movie grabs you and simply will not let go. The story, which starts out as a simple case of good against evil rapidly transforms (no pun intended) into one monster of a showdown where Autobots and Decepticons team up to stop a menace greater than anything the galaxy has ever known.

For a long time, this movie was very difficult to find. This is not the case any longer: Transformers has been re-released, uncut, on the Rhino label in both VHS and DVD format. There is no excuse for you not to own this classic, as even I, who knew NOTHING about the Transformers before I saw this film (I left that sort of stuff to my brother) walked away knowing I had witnessed something incredible. Put "Transformers: The Movie" on your list of the best animated films ever made.

Words are inadequate. Transformers just plain rocks, and I'll defend that position 'till all are one.

TRANSFORMERS RULES

This movie is body and spirit of the 80's i was told when i was a kid i went to see the movie at the cinema and i almost cried when i saw optimus prime die. who wouldn't it's traumatic the your favourite character dying.

This is a cartoon for all ages and time if you're young you'll love it as a film and if you're getting into your prime (no pun intended) from 16+ you'll have fond memories of this film if u liked it as a kid and no doubt u will want to see it again.
my advice do, it is a phenomenon which nothing can match not even pokemon can match this.
one saying TRANSFORMERS RULE

the question is what has happened to the 80's classics such as he-man, dungeons& dragons, transformers. what i wouldn't give to see these cartoons back on our screens.

Transformers: The Movie 3 out of 5 stars

Transformers The Movie has created a cult following that has made this film nearly more popular than the toy line that spawned it. There's something in this film for everyone; From the touching, sci-fi storyline to the seamless combination of Japanese/American animation styles. The overlooked character which represents the feel and the nucleus of the cartoon is the female Autobot named Arcee. She sticks out from the rest and simultaneously shifts behind as the plot naturally progresses. Her appearance is almost surreal; Without Arcee, the film doesn't work, yet with her the film seems to run smoothly while she commits to her supporting role. This happens because Arcee comes across with human characteristics, although we all realize that she is as much a machine as the rest. The most popular scene has historically been the final battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron, a climactic clash that results in Prime's death. Never since Bambi has children been so strongly asked to look upon the subject of death as not only a grand recipe for an emotional story piece, but also as a lesson in life. In order to enjoy Transformers The Movie, one must look beyond the main factor--a cartoon movie based on a popular toy franchise--and look into the story itself. By doing so, anyone can see why this cartoon continues to grow in popularity and why it will continue to build its' following for years to come.
