This entry has more in common with a Warners MERRY MELODY, as it is built entirely on the title song. The story is about a Lion Tour Guide who offers rocketship trips to the Moon for newly weds on their honeymoon. The Tour Guide seems like Noah filling The Arch, as pairs of animals board the rocketship. A pair of cats hurry along about to miss the ride. The tomcat leaps inside as the door is closing, and while holding onto his bride, looses his grip as the rocket takes off, leaving her behind. In the meantime, all the other animal pairs sing the title song. They pass through The Milky Way, made up of maids milking cows. Next they pass by three dimensional views of the planets Venus, Jupiter, and Mars, with faces of these mythical gods painted on each planet. The Moon takes on the persona of Kate Smith, whose signature song, "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain" is heard while the rocket ship lands. Once on the Moon, all of the couples leave the rocket and dance a Fox Trot to the title song as seen against another three dimensional background of the Moon's landscape. The cat wonders around alone and forlorn, with his bride left behind. All the couples return to the rocketship, and as it lands, a flock of storks drops bundles of animal babies to each of the couples. The cat looks up to the stock in a "gimme, gimmie" plea, but the stock has nothing for him. To this, his bride appears angered for having been left behind, and for missing out on this distribtion of bundles. Highly entertaining cartoon, and an interesting departure from the fairy tale format esptablished in this series.
