Production Notes:
This story was adapted in Issue #2 (10252-006, June 1970) of Gold Key Comics' Hanna-Barbera Scooby Doo, Where Are You! ("Phantom Of The Castle").
The following snippets from this episode can be seen in the first-season opening titles:
- Daphne pointing and saying "That way!" and walks out of shot just as a ghostly hand reaches from behind her and misses grabbing her.
- The skull with eyes which Shaggy and Scooby encounter ("They went that-a-way!" "'S'all right!").
- The Phantom confronting Scooby and the gang.
- Shag's hair standing on end, as he screeches, "Zoinks!"
For the first time, episode title cards feature the title over Scooby and the gang running. The first two shows, "What A Night For A Knight" and "A Clue For Scooby-Doo," boasted title cards which featured regular pictures, a la Jonny Quest:- "What A Night For A Knight"'s card showed Scooby and Shaggy opening a crate and The Black Knight, arms outstretched, emerging from it.
- "A Clue For Scooby-Doo" boasted a card with the ghost of Captain Cutler, covered with seaweed and glowing.
