This TV special was aired by key broadcasters from around the world on the same date in honor of UNICEF's International Children's Day of Broadcasting.

It was screened in seven countries, including Canada, The United States, Germany, Spain, Brazil and Mexico.

Based on the best-selling 2002 children's book of the same name by author David J. Smith and illustrator Shelagh Armstrong. The book won numerous awards, including a 2003 Independent Publisher book award.

Rights for the book have also been sold to 15 countries in 12 different languages.
