The series was made available in 26 12-minute episodes, 104 two-and-a-half-minute episodes and 26 seven-minute episodes, allowing flexible and tailor-made programming for any TV station.

Set in an imaginary animal world where ostriches work in stores, mice deliver the mail and beavers snore, "Dragon" playfully explores themes that are universally identifiable to pre-school children, including wanting a friend, being afraid of the dark, and trying not to eat too much candy and ice cream.

The series captures the endearing and often insightful life stories of lovable hero Dragon. In his adventures, Dragon always tries to do good and be fair even through the worst circumstances. He always succeeds to find a solution, often in surprisingly touching ways.
