This show included several modern stylized cartoons made by UPA for TV. Each cartoon belonged to one of several series.
Although the show was produced in color, it was broadcast in black and white.
Individual cartoons ran for 5 minutes each.
The show ran at 5:30 p.m. Sundays. The series lasted only until March 10, 1957, as it turned out to be too expensive to continue.
Reruns of the show were aired on Friday nights in the summer of 1958. "The Gerald McBoing-Boing Show" thus appears to have been the first animated series to air regularly during prime time (preceding "The Flintstones" by two seasons).
Reran as "The Boing Boing Show."
