Eckhart celebrates the pioneering spirit, and the joys and challenges of growing up in a beautiful, magical place called Prince Edward Island. The family series explores really big themes from a very small perspective- that of a mouse named Eckhart, who is full of irrepressible wonderment about the mysteries of his world. A cast of colorful characters joins Eckhart: Grandpa Tomis, mother Clara and sister Mavis; Bridgid and Sweeney, the barn mice; Boss Mouse and his henchmen Ned and Shorty; Madame Thel; Sir Roswald the skunk; Winnie the horse; and many others.
Thirty-nine episodes are planned.
Spun off from "The True Meaning of Crumbfest," an award-winning 1998 Christmas special.
Based on David Weale's "The True Meaning of Crumbfest," which first appeared in "An Island Christmas Reader" in 1994.
