All dialogue from the film is in German; only the narration is in English.

Due to the near financial disaster Fantasia was for his studio, and with audiences down because of the war, Walt Disney needed to look elsewhere for money for his struggling studio. Disney hit upon the idea of producing anti-Nazi and pro-war propaganda shorts for the government. The studio was offered a contract for 32 short propaganda films at $4,500. This contract provided enough work to keep his employees going and, in turn, keep the studio afloat.
