This series also has gone by the titles "Cantinflas Show" and "Cantinflas y Sus Amigos."
Sources suggest that this series was first released in July 1965.
Three studios- Dibujos Animados Diamex SA and Televisa SA (both of Mexico) and Hanna-Barbera (U.S.A.)- produced the series. Reportedly, the two Mexican studios co-produced earlier episodes, while Hanna-Barbera produced later episodes.
The real Cantinflas (born Mario Moreno Reyes) lent his picture and mannerisms to the Cantinflas character in the series.
Diamex/Televisa episodes were supposedly narrated by Pedro D'Aguillon. Someone named Flavio (that's the only name given) has been credited with voicing Cantinflas, but another source says that Cantinflas did the work himself!
Hanna-Barbera episodes have Cantinflas credited as providing the voice of his own character, with José Manuel Rosello as the narrator. The English version of the show, "Amigo and Friends" had another voice cast entirely.
