A series of three 30-minute videos, "Saber Marionettes" (not "Saber Marionette J"), was released in 1995, one year befoer the TV series.
Following the TV series, another video series, "Saber Marionette J Again," consisting of six 25-minute episodes, was released in 1997. This sequel to the series appeared to be made up of unbroadcast TV episodes.
The series returned to TV in 1989 as "Saber Marionette J to X," with 26 25-minute episodes. The final episode was never broadcast on TV, but was released to video.
