Additional Information about the Theatrical Cartoon Drummer Hoff

Inspired by the original illustrations (bright colors over woodcut lines) by Ed Emberley.

The woodcut illustrations suggested that the soldiers move in a formal, stiff manner, so the filmmakers decided on using cut-out puppets for animation. Puppets were manipulated by hand under the animation camera.
