The first color Merrie Melodies cartoon, photographed using the Cinecolor process.
Parodies a big production number in the 1933 Warner Bros. film titled "Footlight Parade," choreographed by Busby Berkeley and sung by Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler (among others in the huge cast). The title tune, "Honeymoon Hotel," was written by Harry Warren and Al Dubin.
There's also a bit of the routine "By a Waterfall," also from "Footlight Parade." The music director for this cartoon is Leo Forbstein, the same as for "Footlight Parade!"
Songs: "Honeymoon Hotel" (Harry Warren-Al Dubin), "By a Waterfall" (Harry Warren-Al Dubin), "You're Getting to be a Habit with Me" (Harry Warren-Al Dubin), "In My Merry Oldsmobile."
