This series of animated cartoons- sometimes including bits of live action- took popular songs of the day and combined the popular "bouncing ball" following the lyrics in an effort for audience singalongs.
Although the title of the song is "I'm Afraid To Come Home In The Dark," the title card of the title card clearly says the cartoon's title is "I'm Afraid To Go Home In The Dark."
Billy Murray recorded "I'm Afraid To Come Home In The Dark" in 1907 and 1908 for the Columbia, Edison, Victor and Zonophone labels.
