Commentary:

Some impressive animation and exciting sequences highlight this current incarnation of Sinbad. The story is ok... there is a quest and there are multiple obstacles (nothing new there), the villian is interesting- in a seductive way- but not terribly terrifying, the voice work is adequate, the score is not offensive, yet still the movie is fun and often thrilling, if not terribly memorable.

I thought that the love interest, though not very original, actually worked well here. What was lacking was the clever repartee that was heard in Dreamworks' The Road To El Dorado which this film reminded me of in style and tone.

The combination of CGI and traditional animation did not work in all spots, causing some distractions, but usually worked effectively enough. The distractions that were caused were tempered by the terrific action scenes that they were part of.

Still, the movie kept the interest, was often exciting and at times pretty clever and funny.
