Production Notes:

Excerpts from this cartoon were reused in the 1949 Tom and Jerry cartoon "Jerry's Diary."

Songs: "All God's Chillun Got Rhythm" (Bronislaw Kaper-Walter Jurmann), "Lord and Lady Gate" (Don Raye-Gene De Paul).

One of five Tom and Jerry cartoons in which Tom dies at the end (the others are "The Yankee Doodle Mouse," "Safety Second," "The Duck Doctor" and "The Two Mouseketeers").

One of the rare cartoons in which Tom speaks. He says "Don't you believe it" after Jerry beats him up him off-screen. That line will be re-used at the end of "The Missing Mouse" after he kicks the white mouse, causing a huge explosion.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.

Alternate Titles: "Cat Nipped"" (Working Title) and "Kitty Foiled"" (Working Title).
