The first new Tom and Jerry short in 34 years (since 1967), "The Mansion Cat" debuted at 8 a.m. April 8, 2001 on Boomerang, playing every hour on the hour for 24 hours...until 8 a.m. April 9, 2001! Classic theatrical Tom and Jerry shorts were showcased in between. The occasion was the one-year anniversary of Boomerang, Cartoon Network's "24-hour commercial-free classic animation cable/satellite network.
