Cartoon Production Information:


First appearance of Shorty, who briefly resembles Bing Crosby in this cartoon.

Originally, the ending has Popeye shooting Shorty, followed by the words, "The Bitter End" on screen. This is excised from modern TV prints.

Originally filmed in black and white, but later colorized by Ted Turner.

Popeye doesn't eat spinach in this short.

Traditional, Hand-drawn Animation.

Its an enjoyable cartoon the first in which Shorty tries to help Popeye, but gets in his way. Ted Turner & his gang have deleted a scene in the end in which Popeye shoots Shorty & we see a sign "the bitter end." The only reason the early...  (read more)
