Kealan O'Rourke is an award-winning Irish director working in both Live-Action Film and Animation. Since graduating from the National Film School in Dublin, he has secured an unprecedented six Irish Film Board awards for his short films: "Rosebud," "Before Sunrise," "Silver Lining," "Flyboy," "Fairycatcher" and "The Boy In The Bubble."
"Fairycatcher" was awarded the Prix des Enfants de la Licorne at the Amiens International Film Festival and also received the Bram Stoker Film Academy Award. "The Boy In The Bubble," narrated by Alan Rickman and the first stereoscopic 3D film in Ireland, premiered to the public at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2011 and was awarded the James Horgan Award for Best Animation and also the prestigious Don Quijote Award for Best Short Film 2011.
"The Boy In The Bubble" is currently being developed into a feature-length project in 3D with writer Will Collins ("My Brothers," "Song of the Sea").
